Head in the clouds, dreaming. Feet on the earth, dancing.
I spent the fourth of July first sailing with my family in the sunshine, and later gaping at the fireworks shooting out of my neighborhood like mushrooms rising from a soft patch of fertile earth. They were everywhere.
The best part? A certain two year old, who isn’t known for sleeping through anything, slumbered through the whole incendiary debacle.
I wore red, white and blue and a peace sign necklace. Because if nothing else, my wish is for America to find peace.
